Warrior-Fighting Sports Center - Boxing Workout

o.k. so cycleocross is in full gear and I'm having race withdrawals. I have no cyclocross or mountain bike or cash to get a bike right now. I'm saving for a new BH road bike this year. Guess ya have to make some sacrifices. My coach keeps telling me to find other things to do. So I decided to try woman's boxing and martial arts. I found this really cool place in Downers Grove called Warrior Fighting Sports Center. When I walked into this place, it is exactly just that. It's a real fighters training center. They have a boxing ring and all the equipment. I just thought if I can't kick butt on the bike now then maybe I'll try it in boxing class. Get out my frustration of road season being over. Our warm up consisted of jogging and jumping roping. I would have thought jump roping would have been so easy but that was not the case. It was tough to keep the pace up and then down. Then they wrapped our hands and taught us the jap and cross punches. There is so much that goes into a punch. Just a slight adjustment of my elbow or foot position made a big different hitting the bag. After a full hour I was impressed with it. It was really fun and thanks to Jessie and Mike and everyone else that was there Friday night. It was a blast. I will be back for more.

Anyone interested in a boxing workout I posted the website on the site of my blog. Just click on it and it will bring you to the home page.
